My husband and I were so touched by Jon's story, and since then we have been touched personally by ALS in our family. We have been involved in triathlon for a long time, and it was the perfect opportunity to help. I wish we could do more.
Cyndi...the -blazeman is on his way...looking forward to spending some time with you both on and off the bike...when you complete your IM and crossing the line..."whisper the word Freedom... Freedom from ALS, the PALS will hear and now another echo in the cause.
Yes, I did IM CDA this past June! It was a beautiful course! That is awesome you are doing Longhorn this weekend! I think I heard that you have someone in your family with ALS? I am sorry to hear... I am a part of Fit2train, but have not been training as much lately. I did two IM distance events in 9 mos. last year (Redman and CDA, along with a few marathons and a couple 70.3) After CDA, I was injured a little, so I have been resting, taking a break, just mostly running this fall. But, I will be back out riding with Fit2train some hopefully before it gets too cold! I work at an ALS clinic in dallas as a speech therapist, so I was so glad to race for team Blazeman, and I will be back out there after a little break... Let me know how things go at Longhorn! Have a great race!
Hey Cyndi, I don't know if we have met officially, but I know we have alot of friends in common from Fit2Train in Dallas. I have been out of the training gang since CDA IM, letting my body recover, but great to see you are a Blazeman Warrior! I rolled at New Orleans Half, Boston, and IM CDA, and at every race, I ended up meeting someone who had been touched by ALS thru friends or family... we should meet up in dallas sometime...
