That is our goal. That is the single reason the Blazeman Foundation exists. And it is with that goal in mind that we are extremely proud to announce our renewed commitment to the research that is working to find the cure...so others may live.
Today, there is no cure available and only one treatment option that has not shown to be clinically significant in slowing the progress of this neurodegenerative disease in its early stages. ALS patients and their families are denied battle… Continue

Thank you to all of the Blazeman athletes yesterday in Austin, TX! It was fantastic to see all of us out there on the course - cheering not only our Blazeman team, but all of the teams and those athletes and on-lookers cheering the Blazeman team on! We are definitely making an impact and raising awareness!
I was fortunate enough to race with #179 yesterday. I ended up placing 4th in my age group and earned one of the six slots to the Ironman World Championship 70.3 for Nov 13,… Continue

I log-rolled my first 10k on 10-11-09 at the Race for the Taste at Disney World. OK, so it's not an Ironman or even a sprint distance triathlon. For a lot of you it's not even a good warm-up run. For me it was my first race and my first run as a Blazeman Warrior.
It felt great running through Disney World knowing that I had set a goal, and was now seeing it through. I met my first goal just by finishing, but also by not having to stop or walk. My second goal was to raise $500 for the… Continue

Fellow ALS Warriors,
I will be racing the Santa Cruz Triathlon (Olympic Distance) this Sunday and have requested number 179. This will be my first, earnest effort to begin the awareness and fundraising campaign in the War on ALS. If you'd like to support me, I am set up at: http://www.active.com/donate/teamblazeman/RobSpinosa .
Blazedad was telling me that Santa Cruz held a special place in Jon's triathlon heart. He mentioned that I might even feel a push out there on… Continue

As many of you know, in 1998 Janet’s father lost a five-year battle with ALS. Janet and I have joined the war against ALS. I ask you all to help me in this fight for a cure. First by taking the time to read Paul’s story. If you feel compelled to help, then I commend you. If you don’t, I want to offer my sincerest appreciation for taking the time to read and become aware of this dreadful disease.
What is ALS? Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease,… Continue

2 years ago this weekend I did my first sprint triathlon motivated by Jon's story. This weekend I will be embarking on my first Ironman experience. Motivated by Jon, I have been dreaming of the day I get to roll across the finish line at an Ironman event. I can't wait!!!!
