Dear Mr. Blais:

It is with great pleasure that I offer my gratitude for the Blazeman Foundation for ALS's recent pledge and first payment in support of Dr. Teepu Siddique's two-year project, "A New Approach to Theraphy In ALS."
I appreciate your continuation of the Blazeman Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship through 2012, and this funding of Dr. Siddique's project will provide excellent resources for his continuing work in ALS. Just this past winter, Dr. Siddique's discovery of a FUS/TLS gene mutations in ALS families has shown new molecular defects that cause damage to motor neurons. We are hopeful that in this new endeavor, Dr. Siddique and his team will develop therapies to postpone the disease's onset and slow its progression.

Again, I thank you for the Foundation's generous commitment to this research, and I offer my best wishes to you in this new year.

Best regards,

Morton Schapiro
President and Professor

Again, to all...this is your letter...your commitment to "the -blazeman's" desire to find a treatment and a the expression of your individual commitment to fight Jon's be an echo and a voice for all the PALS(people with ALS) Jon said in the very begining, "Decision must be instant, Commitment must be Total"...and that in the War On ALS, any and all success will be..."earned and never given".

God bless and thank you.

In Freedom (from ALS) and with appreciation,
blazemom and blazedad...jon's mom and dad.
