I graduated from Texas A&M University at College Station, Texas, with a Ph.D. in Biology. My thesis work focused on neuronal mechanisms underlying the onset of song learning in zebra finches. My current work as the Blazeman Postdoctoral Fellow for ALS Research focuses on synaptic growth receptor signaling and transport in mammalian as well as Drosophila models of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
