Thanks blazedad! I would definitely like to talk with you. I look forward to it - I will send you an email. You are in my thoughts as well, especially on Jon's birthday. You're right, we were meant to share.
Thanks for the welcome blazedad...I will/my family will give everything I/we have "to fight the fight"..I will post race pictures of the Iron Horse Triathlon when its completed..6/29/2014...A close friend/assistant race director will be racing in Jon's honor(179)...thanks for accepting me into your family..
Robert Blais... If you will allow me to add a thought...it is really what Jon spoke to in 2006, something that he discovered as he raced his own races and participated with athletes in a sport that they and he loved...when racing for a "cau...se", whatever it was, the race was never defined by PR...DNF...for he knew, whatever the outcome...he could not have a bad race...something bigger than himself was the purpose...thus, in 2006 when he asked the multi-sport community to join him in his cause, (The WarOnALS)...he knew, and said, "maybe we can do something that the word would hear"...what we now define as the "Echo"...whatever is done in the cause, (ALS or???) an "Echo" is created...their voices are heard...Jon believed that we must "fight the good fight"...it must be with (strength, honor and commitment)...and that what we/you do, does "Echo" in eternity"...Gladiator...and that what has been started, must be finished...and, "others will live"...and so in the future we will hear those words never spoken, "I AM AN ALS SURVIVOR"...who knows, maybe at an IMWC...so, Freedom...(from ALS) and whatever your cause will be...G-D bless and thank you...bmom and bdad...for the -blazeman and the BF-ALS.
From Dan Dortic... Bob, "It has been and will always be my pleasure to help continue the FIGHT. I don't know if you know this but that video is how I learned of Jon and cannot watch it without feeling empowered while at the same time becoming completely emotional. Those feelings is what Jon would have wanted athletes and all people to feel. God Bless the BLAZEMAN for even in death he continues to motivate, teach, and inspire." FREEDOM!! Dan
Summer Cycling for ALS During the month of August, why not dedicate every mile you ride to the War on ALS? With help from our friends at Geared for Good, we've started a virtual fundraiser that makes it easy and fun to support the Blazeman Foundation with every pedal stroke. Our goal: $5,000 by the end of August. It's free to join, easily integrates with Garmin devices, and if you connect your social media feeds, your network of friends will be reminded each time you ride of your commitment to the cause. Please join or donate at www.gearedforgood.com/BlazemanSummer. As a way of saying thanks, every dollar you raise this month qualifies you to win a cycling jersey, courtesy of Geared for Good. We hope you'll join the fight! Let's do some good this summer... So Others May Live.
Thank you for helping us in the WarOnALS...-blazeman and the Blazeman Foundation for ALS... Freedom...
Thank you for your warm welcome! I am very interested in learning all I can about ALS and how to fundraise for it. My cousin Amy, has yet to tell her children about her diagnosis. While they see her difficulty walking and her parents moving in with them, the kids do not know the severity of the situation. I want to wait to being fundraising for her until she has told them. My plan is to do a little fundraising for both her and to fight ALS, how do I go about doing this? Would I have to do 2 separate fund raising pages, or can I designate like a 70/30 split? I'm really new to this whole thing, but I am committed to doing what I can to help. Thanks for all your help :)
Thank you for adding me on to join in the fight of ALS!!! Wished I had known about this a long time ago... Oh well, better late than never! Glad I could join in the war against ALS! Can you believe it's the anniversary year of 30 years since I lost my grandfather to this disease? Perfect time to become a member and friend of Team Blazeman!
Thanks again. I thought I had registered for Team Blazeman when I first joined but it looks like I might have missed a step. I may have assumed that registration on active.com transferred over and they were linked somehow. Anyway, happy to officially be part of the team.
